Cat trapped under busy Ayala Avenue sparks urgent rescue call

“Anyone who can help check?” the group appealed.

According to the post, the cat was spotted along the inner lane of Ayala Avenue used by vehicles turning left from Paseo de Roxas toward Makati Avenue. A map accompanying the appeal marked the location near the intersection of Ayala and Makati avenues, close to the Ayala Triangle area.

The group urged anyone attempting to help to bring a pet carrier or bag and seek assistance from the Makati Public Safety Department (MAPSA), rather than attempting a potentially dangerous roadside rescue alone.

Photos show the cat peering through the metal grid from a space beneath the roadway. Its proximity to moving traffic makes reaching it particularly risky for both the animal and would-be rescuers.

Cats of Legaspi Village, a community page with more than 20,000 followers, advocates for the welfare of community cats in Makati and regularly coordinates feeding, rescue and other assistance.

The appeal quickly drew hundreds of reactions and dozens of comments as concerned netizens sought updates on the animal.

As of the posting, the immediate priority was simple: get someone safely to the site, check on the cat and bring it out before it gets injured or trapped further.
