IV of Spades bags top honors as 39th Awit Awards celebrates OPM

The iconic band wins Album and Song of the Year during OPM’s biggest awards night.

Filipino music took center stage as established acts, rising artists, and OPM veterans gathered for the 39th Awit Awards, celebrating the songs and artists that made an impact in the local music scene.

Among the major winners were IV of Spades, Dionela, SB19, Janine Berdin, and Ben&Ben, who brought home multiple recognitions across different categories.

IV of Spades scored major wins for “Andalucia,” which was named Album of the Year, while “Aura” took Song of the Year. The band also won Best Sound Engineer Recording for “Monster.”

Dionela earned three awards for “Ikigai,” his collaboration with Loonie, winning Best R&B Recording, Best Rap/HipHop Recording, and Best Collaboration. He also received Best Vocal Arrangement.

SB19 added more accolades to their growing list of achievements, winning Best Music Video, Best Pop Recording, and Best Dance/Electronic Recording for “Dungka!”

Janine Berdin secured two awards for “What If I Miss You for the Rest of My Life,” winning Best Ballad Recording and Best Performance by a Solo Artist.

Ben&Ben received Best Musical Arrangement and Best Performance by a Group for “Saranggola.”

The ceremony also brought together OPM veterans and personalities, with Jose Mari Chan, Regine Velasquez, Ogie Alcasid, APO Hiking Society’s Jim Paredes, Catriona Gray, Gloc-9, and DJ Moophs among the presenters.

The Awit Awards is set to mark its 40th foundation anniversary in April 2027, with organizers promising a major celebration for Filipino music.
