Philippine financial markets faced continued selling pressure on Thursday, September 24, 2026, as the Philippine peso resumed its decline and the Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) fell to its lowest level of the week.
The PSEi tumbled 65.12 points, or 1.12%, to finish at 5,730.02, extending its losing streak to six consecutive sessions.
The benchmark index deepened its stay below the 6,000 threshold, continuing to yield ground under persistent market headwinds.

Intraday trading saw the local unit hit a low of ₱62.795—shedding 10 centavos from Wednesday’s low of ₱62.695—though it comfortably held above the ₱62 level.
