“How can people be that cruel?” asks Shuvee, whose past Duterte support, ABS-CBN shutdown remarks have drawn criticism.

Shuvee Etrata has revealed that the backlash she faced in 2025 went far beyond harsh comments. At one point, she received death threats and became afraid to even leave her home.

“Naalala ko, Tito Boy, during Mowm’s concert [Klarisse De Guzman] parang ayaw kong lumabas kasi may nag-death threat sa akin saying, ‘alam ko ito ang sasakyan mo, sasaksak*n kita,’ mga gano’n.”

The revelation came as Shuvee looked back on one of the lowest points of her life, after old videos and social media posts resurfaced and triggered intense criticism.

The controversy included her past support for former President Rodrigo Duterte and discussions surrounding the ABS-CBN shutdown. She later clarified that she opposed the network’s shutdown and apologized for remarks that had hurt people.

But for Shuvee, the backlash became frighteningly personal.

“That was a very tough part of my life, Tito Boy. Hindi lang ng showbiz career. ‘Yong parang kulang na lang yurak-yurakan ka ng tao. Like a lot of people, I was so scared.”

“Natakot ako para sa sarili ko, Tito Boy, na parang how can people be that cruel?”

She admitted that she had reached what she described as rock bottom.

“I hit rock bottom, I would say. Hindi ko akalain na kakayanin ko ’yon.”

What helped her get through the difficult period, she said, was her faith and the people who stayed by her side.

“With the help of God, my core, my core support, my family, Anthony, he really helped me a lot.”

Despite everything she faced, Shuvee said she eventually held on to the realization that she still had people who loved and supported her.

“Nandoon naman po yung mga taong nagmamahal sa akin, Tito Boy. Mas marami pa rin naman po sila.”
