Chain focuses on Cebu market.

Cebu-based dimsum joint Tsim Sha Tsui closed its remaining Manila branch on October 25, opting to focus on its Cebu customer base.

The restaurant closed its stall at upscale food hall Public Eatery in Robinsons Magnolia, Quezon City, after a year of operations.

“We’d like to thank everyone who has visited, dined with us, and supported Tsim Sha Tsui throughout its time at Public Eatery,” the chain said in a statement.

Named after the famed tourist district in Hong Kong, Tsim Sha Tsui opened its first store at Ayala Center Cebu in 2010. The restaurant became known for serving dimsum dishes on a conveyor belt but has since shifted to an unlimited order model.

The chain first arrived in Metro Manila in 2015 with branches in Taguig City and at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3, which have since closed. Its latest closure signals a retreat from Metro Manila as the chain focuses on its Cebu customer base.

Aside from the Ayala Center Cebu branch, Tsim Sha Tsui presently has two other branches in Cebu City and one store at Mactan-Cebu International Airport Terminal 1.
