The 51st Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) is set to light up the holiday season with a lineup of eight official entries that span comedy, drama, horror, and legal storytelling.

Fans can look forward to the annual Parade of Stars on Dec. 19, the nationwide premiere of the films on Christmas Day, and the much-anticipated Gabi ng Parangal awards night on Dec. 27.

Official Entries for MMFF 2025

• “Call Me Mother” – Starring Nadine Lustre and Vice Ganda; directed by Jun Robles Lana

 

“Rekonek” – Starring Gerald Anderson, Gloria Diaz, Alexa Miro, Carmina Villaroel, and Zoren Legaspi; directed by Jade Castro

 

“Manila’s Finest” – Starring by Piolo Pascual, Enrique Gil and Ashtine Olviga; directed by Raymond Red

 

“Shake, Rattle and Roll: Evil Origins” – Starring Ivana Alawi, Francine Diaz, Kaila Estrada, Loisa Andalio, Manilyn Reynes, Janice de Belen, Carla Abellana, Elijah Alejo, Richard Gutierrez, Ryan Bang, Seth Fedelin, and more; directed by Shugo Praico, Joey de Guzman, and Ian Lorenos.

 

“I’mPerfect” – Starring Krystel Go and Earl Amaba, alongside Joey Marquez, Lorna Tolentino, Tonton Gutierrez, and Sylvia Sanchez; directed by Sigrid Andrea Bernardo

 

“Love You So Bad” – Starring Bianca de Vera, Dustin Yu, and Will Ashley; directed by Mae Cruz-Alviar

 

“UnMarry” – Starring Angelica Panganiban and Zanjoe Marudo; directed by Jeffrey Jeturian

 

“Bar Boys: After School” – Starring Carlo Aquino, Kean Cipriano, Enzo Pineda, Klarisse de Guzman, and Will Ashley; directed by Kip Oebanda

The festival officially kicks off with the Parade of Stars on December 19, featuring floats and performances representing all eight films.

The parade route will take participants through major thoroughfares before culminating at the event’s final venue, where a program and live performances will follow.


The procession is expected to last around one hour and 40 minutes and will cover roughly 8.4 kilometers.

The nationwide screening of all MMFF 2025 entries begins on December 25, continuing the festival’s long-standing tradition of Christmas Day premieres.

This will be followed by the Gabi ng Parangal awards night on December 27, which will honor the standout films, actors, and filmmakers of the festival.

MMDA chairman and overall MMFF head Atty. Don Artes expressed excitement about this year’s edition of the festival:

“We are thrilled to bring the Parade of Stars and MMFF celebrations to audiences nationwide. The upcoming 51st edition will be another memorable occasion to mark this year’s theme: A New Era for Philippine Cinema,” Artes said in a statement on the MMDA’s social media pages.

With its diverse lineup of films, festive parade, and awards night, MMFF 2025 promises to be a holiday season celebration for movie fans across the country.
