In an industry obsessed with image, Andres Muhlach and Ashtine Olviga prove that authenticity is still the ultimate star power. Grounded, grateful, and effortlessly genuine, AshDres shines by simply being real.
In a world where fame can be fleeting, Andres Muhlach and Ashtine Olviga stand out for their humility and sincerity. The two young stars, breakout names from the hit Viva One series “Ang Mutya ng Seksyon E,” continue to charm audiences not just with chemistry but with authenticity on and off screen.
For Andres, the glitz of showbiz might be familiar, but the attention still feels new.
“I don’t really see it that way. At the end of the day, I just want to do good work on whatever is presented to me,” he said during Jollibee’s launch, where he was introduced as the endorser of its new chicken sandwich line.
Born to screen legends Aga Muhlach and Charlene Gonzales, Andres grew up around lights and cameras. His twin sister, Atasha, is also making her mark in entertainment. After focusing on school, Andres signed with Viva Artists Agency in 2024 and became one of today’s most promising leading men through “Ang Mutya ng Seksyon E.”
“There’s a lot going on right now, and these are blessings. I’m so happy that all of these are coming to fruition,” he said, sharing that Atasha is also part of the same fast-food brand family. “It’s a full circle moment because we used to endorse as a family. Now we have our own solo campaigns.”
Even with his growing fame, Andres keeps his feet on the ground.
“I’m just happy these things are happening. Nothing’s really changed,” he said, recalling a moment that reminded him how far he’s come. “Once, when I was at the airport in Singapore, a fan from India approached me and asked, ‘Are you Kiefer?’ (His character in ‘Mutya’) I was so shocked. It made me happy.”
Like her leading man, Ashtine has mastered the art of balance—between fame and simplicity, success and staying true to herself.
Before her breakthrough as Mutya, Ashtine had already built a name in the P-pop scene as a member of the groups U Go Girls, PPop Generation, and LITZ. After winning “Born To Be A Star” in 2016, she transitioned to acting in films like “Miss Granny” and “Will You Be My Ex?” before landing her career-defining role in “Ang Mutya ng Seksyon E.”
“I don’t want to change who I am now. I still can’t believe all this is happening. The fact that I’m working and that ‘Mutya’ happened—that’s already a huge blessing. The fact that people love us is a big bonus. And I’m thankful to Boss Vic because he truly believed in me,” she declared.
“Boss Vic” is Vicente del Rosario, chairman and CEO of Viva Communications, which manages her career.
Even after her show’s success, Ashtine’s daily life remains refreshingly normal. She still takes the MRT and even rides a motorcycle to beat traffic. “Sometimes the MRT is faster. I just choose the right time when it’s not rush hour. People ask for photos, but it’s not overwhelming. It’s just, ‘Oh, it’s Ashtine! Can we take a picture? ’”
Her dreams are modest, too. “Aside from getting more projects, I want to have a house here in Manila so that when my mom visits, we’ll have a more comfortable place to stay,” she said.
AshDres: the rise of pop culture favorite
There’s no denying it—AshDres has become more than a love team. What started as an unexpected pairing on “Ang Mutya ng Seksyon E” has evolved into a pop culture favorite, capturing the hearts of fans everywhere. Their connection feels natural, their chemistry effortless.
Now reunited for their first film, “Minamahal: 100 Bulaklak Para Kay Luna,” Andres Muhlach and Ashtine Olviga are out to prove they’re more than just a trending tandem. Directed by Jason Paul Laxamana, the movie follows Raffy, who expresses love through flowers, and Luna, an artist who’s lost faith in it. What starts as admiration blooms into a story of love, longing, and the courage to stay true to one’s heart.
From fan edits and social media tributes to international viewers discovering their work, Andres and Ashtine have become one of today’s most-watched and beloved young duos—proof that in an industry built on illusions, authenticity still wins hearts.
