Influencer game turns chaotic as on-court altercation sparks legal threats, organizer review.
Content creators Boss Toyo and Boss Mhel went viral over the weekend after a heated confrontation escalated into a physical altercation during a recent 3×3 basketball tournament organized by fellow content creator Rendon Labador.
What was meant to be a friendly competition quickly turned tense when the two faced off on the court. Videos circulating online show the situation spilling off the court, with tempers flaring before Boss Toyo punched Boss Mel.
Social media influencer Princess Tan was also seen approaching Boss Toyo in an attempt to calm him down as organizers and others moved to de-escalate the situation.
Shortly after the incident, Boss Mel expressed disappointment over what transpired, stressing that the situation should not have turned physical. He also warned of possible legal action. “I’ll see you in court,” he declared.
Meanwhile, Boss Toyo, in several video interviews, maintained that he is not the type to initiate fights but admitted that he reacted emotionally after allegedly being repeatedly provoked and insulted during the game.
“Di ako magdadahilan. Ginawa ko ‘yon o hindi, hindi ko itatago. ‘Di po ako iyakin. Pasensya na po naging mainit lang po ang pagsagot ko. Basketball kasi ito kaya natural ang init ng ulo. Pasensya sa lahat ng players,” he said.
In an official statement, tournament organizer Motivated Sports said it does not tolerate any form of physical altercation, violence, or behavior that compromises the safety and integrity of its events.
“Motivated Sports is aware of the incident involving Boss Toyo and Boss Mhel that occurred during the Motivated 3×3 Season 9 event,” the statement read. “We would like to make it clear that Motivated Sports does not tolerate any form of physical altercation, violence, or conduct that compromises the safety and integrity of our events.”
The group added that those involved have been advised to address the matter in a professional and respectful manner outside of the tournament, noting that public apologies have already been made.
Motivated Sports also said it will review its event protocols, security measures, and participant guidelines to help prevent similar incidents in the future.
“We remain committed to promoting sportsmanship, discipline, and respect—values that have always been at the core of Motivated Sports,” it added, thanking sponsors, partners, athletes, and fans for their continued support.
The incident has since sparked widespread discussion online, with netizens divided over accountability, sportsmanship, and conduct in influencer-led sporting events.
