Talk show host Boy Abunda says Carla gave him direct permission to share the happy news on air.
Carla Abellana is stepping into a brand-new chapter in her life.
The actress has confirmed her engagement, news that was revealed by talk show host Boy Abunda on Tuesday’s episode of “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda.”
According to the King of Talk, the confirmation came straight from Carla herself after he reached out amid growing speculation online.
“Minessage namin si Carla kung talagang engaged na ba siya. Kinumpirma ni Carla. We asked permission if we can actually confirm this in the program if she is indeed engaged and she said ‘sure.’ Napakagandang balita po,” Abunda announced.
The revelation follows a recent Instagram post from the Kapuso star, who shared a photo of her left hand being held by someone special, with her fourth finger adorned with a ring.
She captioned the photo with a Bible verse: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”
Carla first acknowledged in August that she was seeing someone, though she chose to keep details private. In a previous “Fast Talk” interview, she also playfully dodged wedding rumors that surfaced in October.
“Kung totoo man po ’yon o hindi, of course, that’s part of my private life, I would like to keep it private. I invoke my right to self-incrimination, so I refuse to say ‘yes,’ and I refuse to say ‘no,’” she said at the time.
The actress was previously married to actor Tom Rodriguez. They wed in 2021 and finalized their divorce in 2022.
