Angelica Yulo sparks backlash over cryptic reaction as Carlos and siblings celebrate a rare family milestone abroad.

The mother of two-time Olympic champion Carlos Yulo, Angelica, is once again facing online criticism after reacting to a netizen’s comment about her relationship with her children, even as the Yulo siblings celebrate a recent milestone together.

The controversy began after Angelica “liked” a comment that read, “Wala ka mang swerte sa mga anak, bawi sa mga kaibigan, sis.” She also replied with three heart emojis, prompting mixed reactions on social media.

Content creator Jai Cabajar was among those who criticized Angelica, calling her the “patron saint ng mga matatandang toxic na mahilig magparinig sa social media at nanunumbat ng utang na loob,” a remark that quickly gained traction online.

The renewed attention comes as Carlos shared photos from his and his siblings Eldrew, Joriel, and Iza’s first international trip together in Melbourne.

“Our first international travel together: all 4/4 siblings in one trip, there’s always a FIRST TIME!” Carlos wrote.

Joining the trip was Carlos’ girlfriend, Chloe San Jose.

The family celebration followed another milestone at the 13th Asian Men’s Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Zunyi, where Carlos won gold in the floor exercise while younger brother Eldrew claimed bronze.

The Yulo family has been estranged since their highly publicized rift in 2024. Carlos previously alleged that his mother withdrew money from his bank accounts and managed his gymnastics allowances and incentives without his knowledge or consent. Their conflict was further fueled by Angelica’s disapproval of Carlos’ relationship with Chloe.

In August 2024, Angelica publicly apologized to her son during a press conference, but the two have remained estranged.

As of writing, Angelica has yet to address the latest backlash over her reaction to the comment.
