Cita Astals turns emotional during pamper day as “Home Along da Riles” cast rallies behind her after discovering her worsening dental condition.

Home Along Da Riles” actress Cita Astals spent a heartfelt pamper day with her castmates—proving that family goes beyond blood.

In a May 21 Facebook post of “Home Along Da Reels,” Maybelyn dela Cruz, Vandolph Quizon, Boy2 Quizon, Nova Villa, Smokey Manaloto, Dang Cruz, and Gio Alvarez accompanied Cita to Estetika, the beauty clinic of ex-Viva Hot Babes member Rachel Villanueva.

What began as a light, feel-good day took an emotional turn when the extent of Cita’s dental condition was revealed. According to the doctor, she has severe bone loss and third-degree tooth mobility: “Ibig sabihin, umuuga-uga na ang kaniyang ipin, to the point na malalaglag na.”

Cita grew visibly emotional, but her “Home Along Da Riles” family quickly reassured her. “Ang pamilya, wala sa dugo ‘yan. Nasa kalidad ng pagsasama,” Smokey said, as a teary-eyed Cita went through facial, hair, and dental treatments.

The Reel also showed the “Home Along da Riles” cast bonding over a meal and opening gifts together.

“TITA CITA READY NA MAGING HILLARY!” the Reel’s caption read. “Sino ang nagsabing sa riles lang ang saya? Pati sa pag-awra, hindi papahuli ang ating favorite Tita!”

Cita rose to fame as Hillary Lagdameo, the understanding and sympathetic boss of Dolphy’s Kevin Kosme. She also appeared in several ’90s titles, including “Asero,” “Shake, Rattle, and Roll V,” “Magic Kombat,” “Totoy Mola,” and “Manalo, Matalo, Mahal Kita.”

She later stepped away from showbiz to enter politics, serving multiple terms as a Manila city councilor and running for vice mayor.

In April, Cita went viral as vlogger Bench TV posted his chance encounter with her at a carinderia. She looked noticeably different from her showbiz days.

“Home Along Da Riles,” which aired from 1992 to 2003, followed the Cosme family’s life near railroad tracks. It was praised for its humor and heart.

Now, 23 years later, the beloved sitcom is set for a big screen comeback with “Home Along Da Riles: Da Reunion” on June 17.
