Coco Martin announces the March 13 finale of “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” opens up about ending Tanggol’s journey, and hints at an important revelation in the coming days.

After three years of commanding primetime, Coco Martin has confirmed that “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” will officially conclude on March 13.

The actor-director admitted that deciding to end the top-rating series was far from easy. For Coco, the turning point came when he felt that Tanggol’s arc had reached its natural peak.

Why Coco Martin is ending the journey of Tanggol

As he revisited the storyline and the characters, Coco realized the narrative had run its course.

The decision weighed heavily on him.

Throughout its run, the series became known for its intense plot twists and emotional exits. Coco confessed that every farewell scene took a personal toll on him.

“Nasasaktan at nalulungkot ako every time na may mga karakter na pinapatay, na ume-exit, na kinakantahan namin ng ‘thank you, thank you.’

He expressed gratitude to loyal viewers who stood by the show since day one.

Coco also underscored the enormous effort poured into the production, both in front of and behind the camera.

He revealed that management supported the decision to close the story at its strongest point.

Determined to give the series a send-off worthy of its legacy, Coco said they prepared extensively for the finale even more than they did for “Ang Probinsyano.”

“Pero pinaghandaan namin ang pagtatapos talaga ng ‘Batang Quiapo,’ more than sa pagtatapos ng ‘Probinsyano.’”

With only weeks left before the curtain falls, Coco is calling on fans to stay until the very end.

What’s next for Coco Martin?

As if the finale itself weren’t enough, Coco teased that a significant announcement is on the horizon, something fans believe could be another major project where he and Julia Montes will reunite as leads.

Coco will star alongside Julia in ABS-CBN’s newest primetime teleserye “Sigabo” beginning March 16. In a statement, the Kapamilya content provider described the show as a family-oriented show featuring a mix of action, comedy, and romance.

For now, viewers brace for an emotional goodbye — one that promises closure, gratitude, and perhaps the beginning of another chapter for the man who brought Tanggol to life.
