From grueling shoots to gratitude: McCoy de Leon shares his honest experience on ‘Batang Quiapo’ and working with Coco Martin.

“Batang Quiapo” fight is far from easy.

The issue is heating up after Rod Navarro Jr. aired his sentiments about his alleged “bad experience” on the hit ABS-CBN series “BatangQuiapo” and with its lead star-director Coco Martin.

But McCoy de Leon did not stay silent. He quickly came to Coco’s defense and shared his own experience on the series, admitting that what he went through was no joke.

McCoy de Leon opens up about working conditions on set

According to McCoy, the work on set was tough, but having no job is even tougher. For him, it was both an honor and a privilege to work with one of his inspirations in the industry. He said Coco proved that he is not only a “tagapagligtas” in front of the camera, but also behind it, as he has helped many people by giving them opportunities—and McCoy considers himself one of them.

“Hindi naging madali trabaho ko sa ‘Batang Quiapo.’ Mahirap ang naging trabaho d’on pero mas mahirap pag walang trabaho… Nakakalungkot lang isipin na tumulong ka na, sa huli ikaw pa ang magiging masama,” McCoy shared.

He also expressed gratitude for the opportunities that came his way after his stint on the series and had a heartfelt message for Coco, hoping he would not get tired of helping both newcomers and veteran artists.

McCoy played the role of David Dimaguiba, a crucial character in the ABS-CBN series, who later exited the show after his character was killed off.
