Celebrating wellness and womanhood, Dawn Zulueta and Ayisha Lagdameo hope to inspire fans to prioritize balance and health.
“I avoid toxic people and unnecessary stress,” said actress Dawn Zulueta when asked how she maintains her sense of wellness.
The 56-year-old actress, host, and model recently met with showbiz media—together with her daughter, Ayisha Lagdameo—to celebrate wellness, confidence, and womanhood. “I try to age gracefully… I keep my private life private and focus on my family. Eating well and staying hydrated is important, but so much of it is internal, what happens inside here,” she said, placing a hand on her chest.
Living a contented and grounded life
These days, Dawn describes herself as content and grounded, living a life far from the limelight of showbiz.
“I’m very happy. I get to explore other interests, and I have my time with my kids. I travel with my son since he studies abroad, and I get to be present for my daughter’s school activities. That’s where my joy is.”
Meanwhile, Ayisha is officially stepping into the spotlight, marking her very first brand endorsement—made even more special because she’s sharing it with her mother.
At 16, Ayisha was introduced as the newest face of a beauty and wellness brand. For her, the opportunity felt both unexpected and meaningful, especially since she gets to experience it alongside Dawn.
A dedicated dancer since she was a child, Ayisha has always been aware of her body’s limits and needs. But a rapid growth spurt in her early teens forced her to relearn movement, adjust her technique, and cope with the discomforts of adolescence.
“Whenever I’d dance, I’d get a lot of joint pain, mostly in my knees and ankles,” she recalled. “I used to think I was always injured, but my doctor would remind me that I was simply still growing.”
Mother-daughter bonding
Now, Ayisha is more intentional about balancing rehearsals with proper recovery. So when a wellness brand invited her to lead a new campaign, she didn’t hesitate. “I was really surprised but so excited, especially because I get to do it with my mom,” she shared.
Part of her preparation included discovering treatments that relieve muscle tightness, improve blood flow, and support her active lifestyle—routines she has since embraced as essentials.
For Dawn, the wellness journey looks different now. She focuses on staying strong, managing fatigue, and keeping her body moving with ease as she enters a new chapter of life.
Despite their differing goals, mother and daughter share one commitment: prioritizing long-term health and balance. “It’s wonderful because they now have rooms where you can do treatments together,” Dawn said. “It’s perfect for bonding moments with your daughter.”
Their partnership reflects how wellness has evolved—from quick aesthetic fixes to holistic, sustainable care. It’s a reminder that nurturing the body is a lifelong process, whether you’re a teen performer adjusting to growth or a mother embracing strength and longevity.
Dawn of nostalgia
The collaboration also carries a touch of nostalgia. Dawn’s iconic Marie France ad, photographed while she was pregnant with Ayisha, has become a memorable pop culture moment. Two decades later, the two now stand side by side—Ayisha looking so much like her mother’s younger self that the resemblance feels almost cinematic.
“I’m amazed. I never imagined that one day I’d be here, sitting beside my daughter as part of the same family. It’s such a beautiful moment for me. I’m incredibly proud of her,” said Dawn during Marie France’s 40th anniversary celebration held at Umo Nota in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
As Ayisha and Dawn share this milestone, they represent two generations walking the same path at different paces, proving that wellness isn’t just a routine but a journey best experienced with the people who matter most.
