Diesel prices jump ₱8.82/L on September 22

Gasoline and kerosene also face steep increases as fuel prices climb again.

Diesel prices are set to jump by ₱8.82 per liter on Tuesday, September 22, in another sharp increase at the pump.

Based on the latest Department of Energy computation, gasoline prices will also rise by ₱4.88 per liter, while kerosene will increase by ₱6.47 per liter.

The adjustments will take effect at 6 a.m. on September 22.

As of press time, oil companies have yet to release their respective advisories for the week’s price changes. While actual adjustments could still vary by company and fuel product, oil firms have generally stayed close to the DOE-computed figures in previous price adjustments.

The latest increase comes after another round of steep hikes last week. On September 15, gasoline prices rose by ₱5.68 per liter, while diesel and kerosene increased by ₱4.31 and ₱4.62 per liter, respectively.

With Tuesday’s adjustment, diesel is set for another major jump, adding to the consecutive increases motorists have faced at the pump in recent weeks.

Once the adjustment takes effect, the average pump price of diesel is expected to reach around ₱105.90 per liter, crossing the ₱100 mark. Gasoline, meanwhile, is expected to rise to about ₱92.63 per liter.
