Diesel jumps ₱2.31/L as fuel prices rise again on August 25

Gasoline and kerosene also go up as pump prices continue their upward climb.

The climb at the pump continues, with diesel prices set to jump another ₱2.31 per liter on Tuesday, August 25.

The latest price changes will take effect at 6 a.m. on August 25.

Based on the Department of Energy’s computation, gasoline is expected to go up by ₱1.08 per liter, while kerosene will increase by ₱0.95 per liter.

Advisories released by major oil companies so far are largely in line with the DOE’s computation, with companies either adopting the figures as is or making only minimal adjustments to the amounts.

After the adjustment takes effect, diesel is expected to average around ₱93.07 per liter, up from the current average of ₱90.76. Unleaded gasoline, meanwhile, is projected to average around ₱80.40 per liter, from the current ₱79.32.

The latest increase extends the recent run of upward adjustments, keeping pump prices on an upward trajectory and adding another round of higher fuel costs for motorists.
