Flight fuel surcharges move closer to pre-conflict levels in second half of July

The Civil Aeronautics Board has lowered passenger fuel surcharges to Level 8 for July 16-31, marking another rollback from April’s record-high Level 19 rate.

Filipino travelers are set to see lower airline charges in the second half of July, as passenger fuel surcharges return to the lower levels seen at the beginning of the Middle East conflict.

The Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) has lowered passenger fuel surcharges to Level 8 for July 16-31, down from Level 9 during the first half of the month.

Under Level 8, domestic flights can charge ₱253 to ₱787 in passenger fuel surcharges. International flights can collect ₱835.05 to ₱6,208.98 per passenger, depending on the destination.

Passenger fuel surcharges have been steadily dropping since May as global fuel prices have stabilized following developments related to the U.S.-Iran war.

Passenger fuel surcharges remained at Level 4 for eight months before rising to Level 8 for the April 1-15 period. They then reached an unprecedented high of Level 19 for the April 16-30 period.
