Gab Pangilinan leads a new Filipino musical at Areté as early buyers score perks ahead of limited opening weekend.
“Revolution begins with love.”
This is the central theme of Barefoot Theatre Collaborative’s newest original production, “Gabriela: The Musical,” as theatergoers can now secure their seats for its opening run.
Tickets for the show’s opening weekend are officially available online.
Running from November 13 to December 6, 2026, at the Hyundai Hall, Areté in Quezon City, the musical will star Gab Pangilinan (“Ang Huling El Bimbo,” “Mula sa Buwan”) in the titular role. She portrays the Philippine revolutionary leader widely regarded as the first Filipina to rise against Spanish rule in Ilocandia during the 18th century.
“#GabrielaTheMusical is a new original Filipino musical about the story of a woman in love, a grieving warrior, and the kind of leader we continue to yearn for today,” the production said in an Instagram post.
The production features a book and lyrics by Pat Valera, with music by Myke Solomon. It is directed by Mikko Angeles. Additional cast members are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
Tickets are available via Ticket2Me, with prices varying by section and showtime. Off-peak performances (Thursday, Friday, and Sunday evenings) range from ₱999 to ₱1,999 for Mezzanine seats, and ₱1,999 to ₱2,999 for Orchestra sections.
For peak performances (Saturday shows and Sunday matinees), rates are slightly higher. Mezzanine seats range from ₱1,299 to ₱2,199, while Orchestra seats go from ₱2,199 up to ₱3,199 for VIP.
Early buyers who secure tickets by August 17, 2026, will receive a complimentary souvenir program.
