Fans call out double standards after Juby Sabino details an intimate dream about the actor.

Baby Dolls member Juby Sabino drew online criticism after recounting an intimate dream about actor Donny Pangilinan during the October 18 episode of “Gandang Gabi Vice” (GGV).

During the episode, Juby admitted that Donny was her celebrity crush and shared details of her dream. When host Vice Ganda asked whether it had reached its “conclusion,” Juby confirmed it, prompting laughter from the host and other guests.

Clips of the exchange later sparked debate on social media, with some netizens questioning why sexualized remarks about men are often treated as harmless entertainment.

“Men also don’t deserve to be sexualized,” one netizen wrote. Another questioned why viewers laughed at a woman sexualizing a man.

Donny’s fan group, Donators Philippines, also issued a statement expressing concern over the remarks and their implications for the actor’s dignity and personal boundaries.

“We do not support the sexualization of Donny Pangilinan or of any individual,” the group said, emphasizing that being a public figure does not exempt anyone from being treated with respect and consideration.

The show also drew criticism, with one netizen lamenting what they saw as GGV’s increasing reliance on suggestive segments. The commenter said they missed the program’s earlier mix of casual conversations, spontaneous singing and fun challenges.

The backlash has renewed questions about the boundaries of risqué humor on television and whether standards against sexualization should apply equally, regardless of gender.

A note on the headline: I’d use “sexual remarks about Donny Pangilinan” rather than “sexual remarks on Donny Pangilinan.” It reads more naturally and keeps the focus on the subject of the remarks.
