Gigi Vibes musical director breaks silence on channel drama and pleads to save band’s history

Musical director Jon Cruz begs to preserve the original YouTube channel without asking for money.

Gigi de Lana’s keyboardist and musical director on Gigi Vibes, Jon Cruz, is appealing for the original YouTube channel to be restored and preserved, stressing that it represents the shared work, memories, and dreams of its original members.

In an open letter on his social media, Cruz identified the original owners of Gigi Vibes as Erwin Lacsa, Gidget dela Lana, Jon Cruz, Jake Manalo, Romeo Marquez, and LA Arquero.

He clarified that he is not asking for any revenue, compensation, or personal financial benefit from the channel, but simply wants the channel and the content they created together to remain intact.

“I’m simply asking that the channel and the content we created together remain safe and preserved, without being deleted, altered, transferred, or presented as though they were created by only one person,” Cruz wrote.

Cruz described Gigi Vibes as more than just a YouTube channel, saying it represents the time, effort, friendship, memories, dreams, and shared work they poured into building it.

“GIGI VIBES holds a deeply special place in my heart,” he said.

He also acknowledged that whatever happened among them has already happened and said he has chosen to move forward, while maintaining that moving forward does not mean forgetting their shared past.

“I believe everything happens for a reason. Even so, moving forward does not mean forgetting the past or pretending that the memories and efforts we shared never existed,” Cruz wrote.

Cruz further said he respects the decision to continue creating content under “Gigi de Lana Covers” and encouraged the creation of a separate channel and body of work reflecting that journey.

“I am not asking you to stop creating, performing, or pursuing your career. I am only asking that GIGI VIBES and the content we created together remain preserved and undisturbed,” he said.

He ended his letter by reiterating that his request was not about creating conflict or gaining financially, but about protecting what he considers part of their shared history.

“I am not trying to create conflict or take anything away from anyone. I only hope that the memories we created together can remain safe, respected, and preserved for the people who were part of that journey,” Cruz wrote.

It is worth noting that while Gig de Lana transitioned to being an independent artist and faced online discussions regarding management changes, digital channel issues, and personal challenges, she and the band remain active, continuing to do live streams and perform on stage.

As of this writing, radar Entertainment has reached out to De Lana’s camp for comment and remains open to any statement regarding the matter.
