Shiekah calls out the TV host as members Ceana and Bea contradict claims, fueling online debate,

A comment made by veteran broadcaster Korina Sanchez during DESTINI’s recent television guesting has sparked controversy after the rising P-pop group’s youngest member, Shiekah, publicly questioned the host’s treatment of them.

The rookie quartet—Ceana, Shiekah, Audrey, and Bea—appeared on “Face to Face with Ate Koring” to promote an upcoming release when Korina jokingly remarked, “Ang title ay hindi sabay-sabay,” seemingly referring to the group’s synchronization.

The issue quickly escalated online, with some noting the irony that the group’s lack of synchronization extended beyond performance to their differing takes on the controversy.

During a TikTok Live, Shiekah criticized the veteran host, saying, “First of all, public figure ka pero bakit gano’n yung pagtreat mo?” She added, “Siguro she really held onto ‘yong mga rumors namin… Kung gano’n iniisip mo, edi gano’n.” Shiekah also claimed that her fellow members were uncomfortable with the remark.

However, Ceana and Bea later publicly contradicted her account.

“Hindi namin ’to na-topic… okay lang din ’yung sinabi ni Miss Korina kasi totoo naman, kaya nga nag-training eh,” Ceana wrote. Bea likewise said the group wasn’t disappointed, adding they still have a lot to improve.

The conflicting statements quickly became another talking point online, with netizens pointing out that even the members’ explanations were “hindi sabay-sabay,” echoing Korina’s original joke.

Shiekah later posted, “Don’t drag us into your shenanigans. Leave us out of it.”

The incident has divided netizens, with some defending Shiekah for speaking her mind, while others questioned the rookie idol’s decision to publicly call out one of Philippine television’s most established broadcasters. As of writing, Korina Sanchez has yet to issue a statement.
