Lotlot de Leon gives Jericho Rosales her warm approval

When it comes to her daughter Janine Gutierrez’s love life, actress Lotlot de Leon appears to have no reservations about welcoming Jericho Rosales into the family.

During her guest appearance on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” the veteran actress was asked about her thoughts on Jericho as Janine’s boyfriend, and she was quick to express her admiration for the actor.

“Oh, I love him! I love him. Yes, very much,” Lotlot said.

Lotlot described Jericho as a “wonderful man” and “napakabait na tao,” making it clear that she has warmly embraced the person who has become special to her daughter.

Interestingly, Lotlot and Jericho had already crossed paths professionally years before their connection became more personal through Janine.

Lotlot recalled working with Jericho in a teleserye where Janine was also part of the cast. She particularly remembered spending time with him in Atok, Benguet—unaware that the actor she was working with would eventually become her daughter’s boyfriend.

Jericho confirmed his relationship with Janine in August 2024, following weeks of dating speculation. Rumors about the two began in July after they were spotted together at the National Museum and shared similar sets of photos around the same time, prompting netizens to wonder if they were dating.

Looking back, Lotlot found humor in how their paths eventually unfolded. She jokingly described Jericho as becoming both “Kapuso at Kapamilya” of Janine, referring to their respective television affiliations while also highlighting how he has become part of their family.

Beyond the lighthearted coincidence, Lotlot said her fondness for Jericho comes from how he has treated them.

“He’s been nothing but wonderful to us,” she shared.

For Lotlot, seeing her daughter happy and in a relationship with someone who treats her well appears to be what matters most.

With Lotlot openly expressing her admiration for him, Jericho has clearly earned the approval of one of the most important people in Janine’s life: her mother.
