His performance on the show earned him the Best Child Performer award at the 29th PMPC Star Awards for Television.

Marco Masa remains the last child actor to headline ABS-CBN’s most coveted timeslot–the slot immediately after “TV Patrol–with the hit fantasy drama “Nathaniel” in 2015.

Following “Nathaniel,” shows on the said most-watched timeslot shifted to action-driven dramas led by Coco Martin, beginning with “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” before transitioning to “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” and, most recently, “Sigabo.” More than a decade later, no child star has reclaimed the same primetime slot.

After “Nathaniel,” Marco was also set to star in the primetime drama “Written in Our Stars” alongside Toni Gonzaga, Sam Milby, Jolina Magdangal, and Piolo Pascual. However, the project was eventually shelved before its scheduled premiere.

His performance as the titular “Nathaniel” also earned Marco the Best Child Performer award at the 29th PMPC Star Awards for Television, cementing his status as one of the country’s most recognizable child actors of his generation.

Now 19, Marco stars as Zion in GMA Afternoon Prime’s “You’re My Favorite Song” alongside Caprice Cayetano and Heath Jornales, marking his return to a lead role years after making history as the last child actor to front ABS-CBN’s opening primetime drama.
