“Stars on the Floor Season 2” raises the stakes with Jasmine Curtis-Smith’s mystery reveal, the launch of “Collabo-labong Labanan,” and Marian Rivera’s candid reflections on her lifelong love for dance.

No matter how long she steps away, Marian Rivera says dance is in her blood, and it always calls her back.

Marian, known for her own dance background,  opened up during the recent media gathering of “Stars on the Floor” about how stepping away from the spotlight at different points in her life never dimmed her passion.

“Siguro kung nasa dugo mo na ang hilig mong sumayaw, talagang kahit anong tigil mo sa pagsasayaw, babalik ka ulit. Kasi ang dami ko ring tigil sa pagsayaw: kapag nabubuntis ako, nagre-rest ako. Even in showbiz, siguro nag-rest ako for four years,” she shared. “Marami pa rin na on-and-off. Love ko ang pagsasayaw, at hindi iyan mawawala.”

Marian’s lifelong passion for dance

After a high-impact pilot episode last February 15, “Stars on the Floor Season 2” returned with bigger twists, tighter rivalries, and performances that proved the competition is only just beginning.

Hosted by Alden Richards, the show continues to merge the worlds of celebrity dance stars and P-Pop dance stars in weekly themed collaborations.

Guiding and critiquing the contenders is the dance authority panel led by Marian, alongside Coach Jay and Rayver Cruz.

Marian’s judging style reflects that deep connection to movement. Technicality matters, but joy carries equal weight.

“Nakikita natin na mag-e-enjoy sila, and at the same time, kailangan tama ang steps nila, at ‘yong mga partners nila in sync sila. Pero ang importante talaga sa akin nakikita ko na ineenjoy nila ang bawat pag-indak nila. Malaking points sa akin iyon,” Marian explained.

Jasmine Curtis-Smith joins the fray

On the night of Feb. 15 was the unveiling of the mystery celebrity dance star. The studio erupted when multi-awarded actress Jasmine Curtis-Smith stepped into the spotlight. Paired with Joker of 1st.One, she delivered a sharp and sultry cha-cha-cha that immediately set the tone for the evening.

The episode also marked the official launch of the competition’s first phase, “Collabo-labong Labanan,” signaling the start of duo collaboration battles where chemistry and precision are put to the test.

The rest of the lineup delivered equally compelling numbers. Rocco Nacino and Denise of CALISTA staged an intense open choreography inspired by a crime investigation. Chanty Videla and Jeromy of Horizon explored the modern world of dating apps through a sleek jazz funk routine.

Paul Salas and Saphia of KAIA unleashed a high-energy hip-hop performance set in an alternate reality, while Sugar Mercado and Jaw of Alamat transformed the stage into a vibrant carnival through a lively dancehall piece.

With surprise reveals, emotional revelations, and battles that demand both heart and discipline, Stars on the Floor season 2 is shaping up to be a must-watch spectacle.

“Stars on the Floor,” hosted by Lexi Gonzales, Thea Astley, and Sean Lucas, airs every Sunday at 7:15 p.m. after “Bubble Gang,” with livestreams available on Kapuso Stream and the GMA ATM YouTube Channel.
