He said God made Izzy ‘resign’ from the group.
For netizens, recent posts by SexBomb Girls’ Sunshine Garcia—and even an old one from Mia Pangyarihan—appeared to subtly shade ex-member Izzy Trazona’s husband, Alvin Aragon, now trending on social media over his transphobic and misogynistic remarks made while preaching God’s word.
On February 15, Sunshine shared an appreciation post for her husband, Bulacan Vice Gov. Alex Castro, posting photos from their Valentine’s Day dinner at a restaurant.
“My date last night ❤️ Nagkaroon din tayo ng quality time ❤️,” said Sunshine, whose group’s “Get, Get, Aw!” reunion concert scheduled on December 4 extended through December 9 and February 6 to 8.
A sixth show (dubbed “rAWnd 6”) is upcoming, while a world tour is now in the works—with stops in Dubai and Abu Dhabi this March and in California in May.
Netizens, however, zeroed in on her next words, which they felt were pointed: “[T]hank you lagi sa SUPPORT, hinahayaan mo akong mag GROW at gawin yung mga bagay na makakapagpasaya sa akin thank you sa pag intindi.”
“lowkey parinig kay alvin be like HAHAHAHAHAHAHA pretty mo so much, mama ss!” a netizen said, while another one added, “Caps lock yang SUPPORT AT GROW! Yeaaaaah.”
In a Feb. 13 interview with DWAR Abante Radyo, Alvin name-dropped Alex amid comparisons online about how they treat their respective wives. He denied accusations that he was controlling Izzy’s career—after she skipped the SBG reunion concerts—and gave Alex unsolicited advice.
“Sinasabi nila, ‘Buti pa ‘yong asawa ni Sunshine, vice governor, pinayagan sila mag-concert,'” Alvin said. “Cinocompare ako sa asawa ng ibang SexBomb, na mabait daw sila, kasi pinayagan daw nila yung asawa nila na mag-concert. ’Yon ba ‘yong basehan ng mabait na husband, payagan lang magconcert? Parang ang babaw naman n’on.”
“Dapat nga hindi, eh. Dapat nga ‘yong asawa mo, ingatan mo. Hindi mo hahayaang magsuot ng mga damit na para pagnasaan ng mga lalaki,” he added.
In a text message to entertainment news website PEP.ph, Alex, through Sunshine, responded: “[H]indi ko na dapat patulan dahil mas madami akong mahalagang trabaho dito sa amin… Ipagdasal na lang natin silang mag-asawa.”
SexBomb Papas
On Feb. 16, Sunshine also shared a photo of the SBG and their respective husbands or partners—affectionately called “SexBomb Papas”—celebrating days after their three-night show in February.
Present were Alex and Sunshine; Rossel Onayan, husband of Evette Pabalan; actor-dancer Joshua Zamora, husband of Jopay Paguia; Aries Sarte, husband of Jacky Rivas; EJ Gatbonton, partner of Jovel Palomo; CJ Abad, partner of Mhyca Bautista; ex-Philippine national football team player Darren Hartmann, husband of Danielle Sheen Ramirez; Louie Valdes, husband of Mae Acosta; and Ronald Inovero, husband of Aira Bermudez.
Those who didn’t make it included Arthur Solinap, husband of SBG leader Rochelle Pangilinan; Giovanni Cheng, husband of Aifha Medina; Dadiming Capistrano, husband of Weng Ibarra; Macoy Diamante, husband of Monic Icban; and Jezer Quian Sotto, husband of Che Che Tolentino.
“Last night ganap. Dinner meeting with SB Girls. Syempre kasama ang mga hubbies,” Sunshine wrote in the caption.
Rossel, in a separate post, said, “Nagsama-sama ang mga SB PAPA… makukumpleto din tayo sa susunod.”
Arthur commented, “Na miss ko to Brother. Sana may rAWnd 2 😊.”
Che Che, who married Jezer in the United States last January, also commented, “Ang saya hahaaha next time sama ko ung asawa ko hahaha.”
A clip from Aira showed the husbands gamely showing off their dancing moves, particularly the “Macarena,” in front of the girls.
“Grabe ang support ng husband ng mga Sexbomb! Pati sa sayawan ‘di nag pa huli!” Aira wrote in the caption.
Many commenters praised the SexBomb Papas for being supportive—all while taking a swipe at Alvin.
“Alvin aragon ‘the bible man’ left the group,” one user said in Sunshine’s post.
“Ganyan dapat, very supportive ang husband sa wife kasi happiness ng wife nila ay magiging happiness din ng buong Family nila at hindi sila kokontrolin dahil alam ng husband kung sino ang mga kasama ng wife nya na super good influence din. Di tulad nung Alvin,” another user added.
”Wag kang maniwala d’yan’
Mia’s TikTok post on December 20, 2025—days after their concert’s first two shows—also resurfaced following Alvin’s remarks. In the 14-second clip, she lip-syncs to a rendition of the Itchyworms’ hit “Akin Ka Na Lang,” featuring the lyrics, “‘Wag kang maniwala d’yan / Di ka n’ya mahal talaga / Sayang lang ang buhay mo / Kung mapupunta ka lang sa kaniya.” She also sips red wine afterward.
Netizens flooded the comments section with references to Alvin.
“parehas b tyo ng iniisip kung pra knino yang kanta?” one user said, while another one said, “Si Lord Alvin ba yern?”
Several others also reposted the clip on X.
‘God judged homosexuality’
The backlash intensified after Alvin also spoke about his transgender stepdaughter, Sofia, during the same DWAR interview.
“Doon pa lang sa anak niya… pinili ang direksiyong maging bading,” he said. “Ano bang sabi sa Bible? God judged homosexuality.”
“God will throw you to hell if you continue to do homosexuality,” he added.
In a tweet on Feb. 9, Sofia shared that she and Izzy no longer see each other. She previously said her mother wasn’t supportive of her transition.
“i also am scared na pag nakita niya na ako ngayon as a transwoman, iba yung reaction na mareceive ko and ayoko na bumalik sa dark place nung lumabas yung issue i just want validation and acceptance. wala ng iba,” Sofia wrote.
In denying claims that he’s controlling Izzy’s career, he explained she left the group before they got married in 2012.
“Matagal nang wala si Izzy sa SexBomb, 2009 pa lang. Hindi pa nga ako ’yong asawa, eh. Sino ang nagpa-resign? Ang Panginoon… pinag-resign ng Lord,” he said.
Alvin also criticized the SBG’s name, which took inspiration from Welsh singer Tom Jones’ hit “Sex Bomb,” and the members’ outfits, arguing that women’s clothing can supposedly provoke lustful men.
“May damit na kita yung cleavage mo at saka legs. Walang lalaking magnanasa kung maayos ka manamit… Anong mararamdaman ng lalaki pag may sumasayaw na seducing ang atake?” he said.
He maintained that husbands should “protect” their wives: “Hindi mo hahayaang magsuot ng mga damit na para pagnasaan ng mga lalaki.”
Alvin’s remarks, widely criticized as sexist and controlling, prompted users to revisit Izzy’s February 26, 2025, TikTok vlog recounting their third pregnancy. In the video, he joked that the child might not be his.
“Positive siya [sa pregnancy test]. Sabi ko, ‘Di akin yan. Naghohotel ‘to.’ Nagpromote siya ng Netflix noong time na ‘yon sa [ABS-CBN]. Malay ko anong nangyari? Siya lang mag-isa no’n, hindi ako kasama,” he said.
Alvin and Izzy have yet to react to the wave of criticisms about his recent remarks, including radar’s now-viral opinion piece on how he’s “proof that God’s word can be used to spread hate.”
Many commenters praised the SexBomb Papas for being supportive—all while taking a swipe at Alvin.
