The conversation gained traction online after pageant personality Brandon Espiritu made remarks about “halfies” in the industry—referring to candidates of mixed heritage—which sparked debate among fans and insiders on representation, identity, and what it means to be Filipina on the global stage.
Having built her life in the Philippines and previously married to Filipino actor John Estrada, she described the debate as unacceptable. She emphasized that she has always felt the warmth, acceptance, and genuine love of the Filipino people, regardless of her pure Brazilian heritage.
