
Philippine financial markets finished the week on a positive note on Friday, July 10, 2026, with the Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) regaining momentum after a brief pullback.
The PSEi rose 62.83 points, or 1.01%, to close at 6,286.70, bouncing back a day after its six-session winning streak ended.
The latest gain lifted the benchmark to its highest close this month and kept it comfortably above the 6,200 level, pointing to continued investor confidence despite recent market fluctuations.
Peso bounces back
The Philippine peso strengthened, gaining 9 centavos to close at ₱61.515 against the US dollar, recovering after two consecutive trading sessions of losses.
The peso reached an intraday high of ₱61.60, marking a modest improvement from the previous session. Despite the recovery, the local currency remained in the ₱61 range, indicating it continues to face pressure.
