Beyond the grocery aisles, Puregold Price Club Inc. bridges the rural education gap with solar energy, health services, and livelihood support to underserved students and families.
Rural communities in the Philippines continue to face stark disparities in access to education. Many schools operate with limited infrastructure, unreliable electricity, and scarce learning materials. These gaps make it difficult for students to reach their full potential and for teachers to provide quality education.
Puregold Price Club Inc. has positioned its Pusong Panalo program as a long-term response to these challenges. Launched in 2024, the initiative seeks to reduce the education gap between urban and rural areas by providing resources that directly improve learning conditions while supporting entire communities. The program combines school infrastructure upgrades, essential supplies, health and wellness services, and livelihood support for families, aiming to create environments where students can learn without unnecessary barriers.

In Tanay, Rizal, Alas-Asin Elementary School became the sixth beneficiary this year. Puregold delivered solar panels to ensure reliable electricity, conducted health and dental checkups, provided school supplies and grocery packs for families, and built a new playground. Teachers and families received livelihood packages to help supplement income and strengthen household resilience.
School head Marvie Guinto said the program made a visible impact on her students and the community. “Ang ganda ng lente ng Puregold, nakita kami. Sobrang liwanag, nakita ‘yung pangangailangan ng school.” Students, many of whom had never received new supplies or treats, shared their excitement over the groceries, snacks, and clothes they received.
The road to 2028: scaling impact
Since its inception, Pusong Panalo has reached eight schools nationwide and aims to assist 30 more by 2028. The program is designed to improve long-term access to education, enhance student engagement, and provide teachers and families with tools to create sustainable community development. By combining infrastructure, supplies, wellness, and livelihood initiatives, Puregold is creating a model that addresses multiple challenges in underserved communities.
“Puregold believes that education is the key to a better life. For these children, this school represents their hope for a brighter future. We came here to provide better tools and facilities so these students can achieve their dreams,” said Vincent Co.

CSR as a business strategy
For retailers, programs like Pusong Panalo demonstrate the intersection of corporate responsibility and business strategy. Investing in underserved schools strengthens brand loyalty, enhances reputation, and contributes to long-term community development. It also addresses systemic issues in rural education, providing resources that can improve retention, performance, and future opportunities for students.
Rural schools often struggle with insufficient facilities, limited technology, and a shortage of basic learning materials. Even interventions that seem incremental, such as solar panels, classroom supplies, or health checkups, can have lasting effects on students’ engagement and morale.
Pusong Panalo shows a broader approach to CSR in the retail sector. By integrating education support, community wellness, and livelihood initiatives, Puregold demonstrates that social programs can simultaneously meet human needs and reinforce business objectives. The program proves that targeted, sustained efforts can empower children, support families, and strengthen a company’s presence in underserved regions.
Puregold continues to seek schools where Pusong Panalo can make a measurable difference, ensuring that every Filipino child with a “gintong pangarap” has a fighting chance.
Puregold Price Club Inc.’s Pusong Panalo program brings tangible support to rural schools, addressing persistent education gaps across the Philippines.
