Joseph Marco, Rhen Escaño team up for Viva One’s hottest Wattpad adaptation yet

Leading the series are Joseph Marco and Rhen Escaño, marking their first on-screen pairing, under the direction of Fifth Solomon. 

Marco steps into the role of Ezekiel “Zeke” Roswell, a powerful mafia boss hiding behind the polished image of a billionaire executive. His carefully guarded world unravels when Aemie Romero, a college student portrayed by Escaño, discovers the dangerous truth behind the man she marries.

Marco shared how his working relationship with Escaño helped shape their on-screen dynamic:

“Peg and inspiration, I guess towards each other because like what I’ve said, I really enjoy working with Rhen. We really get along. That’s why every time we get the chance to work, we maximize and lumalabas na talaga siya,” he said.

Zeke and Aemie’s chemistry

For Escaño, bringing Aemie to life required deep preparation and a strong connection to the source material:

“Nakatulong po sa akin ang panunood ko ng isang Japanese series. Mayroon po akong pinanood na medyo close dito sa character. Pero kakaiba po kasi si Aimee. Mahirap maghanap ng peg para sa kaniya. The character is one of a kind,” she began.

“So nag-stick po talaga ako sa kung ano ang nasa book and ako gumawa ako ng identity ni Aimee. Binasa ko talaga ang book ng cover-to-cover, twice, kasi gusto ko maibigay sa audience  kung ano po ang deserve nila,” she explained.

A professional breakthrough for Rhen Escaño

Beyond portraying Aemie, Escaño described the project as a personal and professional turning point in her career:

“Siyempre po kasi ang tagal ko pong naghintay, ang dami ko na pong nagawa, at ang dami ko nang pinagdaanan. Answered prayer po talaga siya,” she told the press.

Escaño added: “Parang mag-uumpisa talaga ang year na ito binigay na po ni Lord ang matagal ko nang ginugusto sa buhay ko. Of course, I’m so grateful at hinding hindi po ako makakalimot sa mga taong tumulong sa akin, at sa mga supporters na naniniwala.”
