The expansion of NCS Philippines will create more jobs in AI, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and software engineering as Singtel deepens its technology investment in the country.
Singapore’s Singtel Group is deepening its bet on the Philippines with a ₱1.87-billion technology investment that will expand NCS Philippines from a 150-person operation into a team of more than 1,200 professionals.
The expansion could open more opportunities for Filipino tech workers as global demand continues to grow for expertise in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity, data analytics, and software engineering. It also strengthens the country’s position as a regional hub for digital services, giving local talent greater access to high-value work without leaving the country.
The investment comes through NCS Philippines, a joint venture between Singtel’s technology services arm, NCS, and Globe Telecom’s Yondu. Singtel is also a shareholder of Globe.
The Department of Trade and Industry said the project was discussed during President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s working visit to Singapore, where Singtel executives reaffirmed their long-term commitment to the Philippines and their support for expanding the country’s digital infrastructure and technology workforce.
With companies worldwide investing heavily in AI and digital transformation, landing projects of this scale could help create more skilled jobs while attracting additional technology investments into the country.
