Decathlon celebrates its 50th global anniversary and reaches the 20-store mark in the PH expansion push. It plots a path to 50 Philippine branches by 2030.
Decathlon has opened its 20th store in the Philippines, coinciding with the French athletic apparel chain’s 50th anniversary worldwide.
Decathlon Ayala Malls Manila Bay opened its doors to the public on May 15 following a soft opening on May 11. The branch is the largest among the chain’s Ayala Malls-based stores, offering 5,000+ products across 70+ sports categories.
The newly opened branch also features a game corner where kids and kids-at-heart can play in between shopping sprees. Its opening coincides with Decathlon’s 50th year since opening its first store in 1976 in Lille, France.
Path to 50 Branches
The low-cost athletic apparel chain first entered the Philippine market in 2017 and now has branches across Luzon and Visayas, with stores set to open soon in Nuvali, Laguna; Cavite; Makati City; and Davao City.
Decathlon aims to open 50 branches in the country by 2030, supporting the growing demand for athletic apparel as more Filipinos seek out physical fitness, especially running and outdoor activities.
Fitness is recession-proof. Decathlon opens its 20th Philippine store at Ayala Malls Manila Bay during its 50th global anniversary.

How to maximize shopping experience in Decathlon
Leverage eco-design lines. To cushion its supply chain from global raw material inflation, Decathlon has integrated eco-design products made from recycled polyester and sustainably sourced cotton. These lines are frequently priced lower than their standard counterparts while offering the exact same technical performance and durability guarantees.
Use test zones more frequently. Take full advantage of the flagship game corners and equipment testing zones. Before purchasing technical gear like hiking tents, compound bows, or road bicycles, request an in-store sports leader to demonstrate assembly and structural limits. Testing products on-site reduces the hassle of processing returns later.
Join Decathlon’s digital membership ecosystem via their mobile app. Membership unlocks an extended multi-year return policy and free access to regional community sports events—providing an excellent, budget-friendly lifestyle buffer against rising entertainment and fitness costs.
