The actress opens up about manifesting the project, Dominic Roque’s reaction, and ending her year with gratitude.
“It pushed me to get back on track,” said actress Sue Ramirez when asked by showbiz scribes about her preparations for a recent sexy photo shoot.
Sue shared that she helped choose the final photos for the layouts of a promotional calendar launched recently. “Ayaw ko kasi mag over-prepare. I still want to be myself. I still want to look like myself. So diet lang. Naging wake-up call nga siya to live a healthier lifestyle kasi ang dami nangyari earlier this year,” she told radar Entertainment and a select group of writers during her launch as the newest Ginebra San Miguel calendar girl.

“So ito na ’yong naging back-on-track moment ko. I’m so grateful for this campaign because it really gave me the push,” she added.
Sue also revealed that she had prayed for and “manifested” the project. “I claimed na balang araw magiging Calendar Girl ako. This is my manifestation. Ibibigay ’yon ng universe sa’yo. I’m so happy, so proud.”
She then talked about how her boyfriend, Dominic Roque, reacted to her decision to go sexy for the calendar.
“Sobrang proud. And I’ve been feeling under the weather ngayon, pero binigyan niya ako ng vitamins and binilhan ng turmeric kasi kakanta nga ako. Sabi niya, ‘Don’t drink cold water.’ Ang dami niyang paalala,” she said.
Sue added that while Dominic wasn’t completely “in for it,” he remained her biggest supporter. “He knows that it’s something I really want, at hindi siya nakikialam sa mga bagay na gusto ko. That’s how he shows his support.”
She also revealed that Dominic hadn’t seen the calendar layouts before the launch. “Hindi pa niya nakita. Pero I’m sure matutuwa siya—girlfriend niya ’yan o,” she said with a laugh.
Aside from her calendar shoot, Ramirez remains active on television with her top-rating ABS-CBN series “What Lies Beneath,” ending her year on a note of gratitude.
“How do I wrap up my year? Punong-puno ng pasasalamat—even on the days you’re down or sad. Papanaigin ko pa rin ang gratefulness ko, and that’s how I will end my year,” she said.
To close the interview, Sue was asked about being compared to fellow actress Andrea Brillantes, who was also launched as a 2026 calendar girl for another liquor brand.
“Actually, hindi kami magkatapat. We are women uplifting each other. We’re different types of women, different shapes. Iba-iba tayo ng itsura, and we all represent someone out there who is watching. I’m proud of her for what she’s achieved in her launch, too. Sana proud din siya sa Ate Sue niya.”
I claimed na balang araw magiging Calendar Girl ako. This is my manifestation. Ibibigay ’yon ng universe sa’yo. I’m so happy, so proud.
