Actor Tony Labrusca opens up about being labeled “too wild,” owning his imperfections, embracing his free-spirited nature, and committing to a healthier, more mindful lifestyle in 2026.
In an industry that often rewards perfection and punishes deviation, Tony Labrusca is choosing honesty over approval.
Known as much for his talent as for the conversations surrounding his personal life, the actor has once again found himself at the center of online chatter. This time, over social media posts that some netizens have branded as “too wild.”
Instead of retreating, Labrusca has opted to stand his ground, speaking openly about who he is, how he lives, and why self-expression should not require an apology.
Wonderfruit controversy and public Perception
Entertainment rumor pages recently circulated reports that Tony’s father, Boom Labrusca, addressed online remarks directed at his son, including comments that veered into gay-bashing and speculation about Tony’s sexuality. The renewed discussion followed an Instagram clip of the actor dancing shirtless at the December 2025 Wonderfruit Music Festival, which quickly made the rounds on social media and drew mixed reactions.
For Labrusca, however, this is familiar territory. Since entering showbiz, he has rarely been far from controversy—some of it, he acknowledges, simply comes with being visible in an industry where personal boundaries are often treated as public property.
For him, the noise has also become a mirror, reflecting society’s expectations of how a celebrity should behave.
“I’ll say this: I’m not perfect, okay? I know I’m in showbiz, but this is me—this is my personality,” he said, addressing the criticisms head-on. “And I’m sorry that it doesn’t fit the box of being a perfect celebrity. I really am.”
Choosing authenticity over the “perfect celebrity” mold
For Labrusca, the pressure to always say the right things (“Na hindi makabasag pinggan.”) and look the part feels restrictive and inauthentic. He acknowledges that his ideals and lifestyle may differ from those of other celebrities, but he sees no reason to pretend otherwise.
“Maybe I am a bit carefree. I wouldn’t say careless—it’s just that I have one life to live. I’m human too, and I want to enjoy life the way I feel I deserve to.”
He knows his choices may not sit well with everyone, especially in what he describes as a conservative society. Still, he remains firm in his belief that personal freedom should not be mistaken for recklessness.
“If that’s what gets me in trouble, then I’m sorry. But I don’t want to live life knowing I missed out on experiences because of that,” he said. “I’m a free spirit. I can be wild at times, and I believe I have every right to do that. I’m not hurting anyone.”
When asked the simple but telling question, “Pero masaya ka?” Labrusca didn’t hesitate. Smiling, he answered, “Masaya!”
Prioritizing wellness and longevity in 2026
As he steps into 2026, Labrusca is also turning over a new leaf—one rooted in wellness, mindfulness, and longevity. Embracing a healthier lifestyle has become a priority, shaped by lessons learned the hard way.
“Aging is a blessing, but it’s our responsibility. If we want to age gracefully and enjoy longevity, we have to take care of our bodies,” he shared.
Stress management, in particular, has become central to his self-care routine. He admitted that in his early 20s, he dismissed stress and anxiety, pushing himself to constantly stay active and productive—a mindset that eventually caught up with him.
“When I was really stressed, I experienced a lot of health problems, like chronic pelvic pain,” he revealed, noting that stress was a major factor. Now, he takes a more mindful approach, lowering cortisol levels through deep breathing, gratitude, exercise, time in nature, and hobbies that spark joy.
“It sounds cheesy, but honestly, it works for me,” he said. “It’s not a one-stop shop, not a quick fix. It’s really a lifestyle.”
If that’s what gets me in trouble, then I’m sorry. But I don’t want to live life knowing I missed out on experiences because of that,” he said. “I’m a free spirit. I can be wild at times, and I believe I have every right to do that. I’m not hurting anyone.
