Variety show ‘Live A.I.D.S.’ returns for its 36th year!

UP SAMASKOM is bringing back the laughs with the 36th installment of the longest-running comedy musical variety show in the Philippines, Live A.I.D.S. (Ang Istoryang Dinebelop ng SAMASKOM).

The highly anticipated production, this time titled “Let There Be Laughs,” will run from June 26 to 28, at the IBG-KAL Theater in UP Diliman.

Known for its sharp political comedy and brilliant performances, Live AIDS has been vocal in scrutinizing social issues through a comedic-yet-justified perspective, in ways that are sure to amuse, educate, and provoke its audience.

The variety show is a staple in the university theater scene and the broader local entertainment landscape. This year’s edition promises to be a beacon of light and humor, inviting audiences to “awaken from the dark” and “turn on the laughter” through a spectacular showcase of singing, dancing, and comedy.

Directed by Deo Divinagracia, “Live AIDS 36” continues the performing organization’s rich legacy of producing top-tier comedic talent and socially critical stage performances that resonate with both the UP community and a wider audience. The variety show has long served as a space for creative freedom and an experimental stage for artists, producing the star careers of alumni Jervi Wrightson (also known as KaladKaren), Tuesday Vargas, Kuya Kim Atienza, Raymond Lauchengco, and drag artist Mrs. Tan.
