Rider allegedly threatened customer with a “bukol” after she canceled the booking.
A Lalamove customer said his girlfriend received a threatening text message from a rider after she canceled a motorcycle booking to deliver her computer to a repair shop.
The incident reportedly began when the customer’s girlfriend booked a motorcycle delivery for ₱70 and asked the rider to handle the computer carefully. She later shared her experience on Reddit on October 28.
According to the post, the rider then demanded an additional ₱100, saying he would “find a way” to accommodate the delivery. The customer’s girlfriend reportedly felt uncomfortable and checked the price of a car booking, which cost ₱199—just ₱29 more than the motorcycle booking with the requested tip included.
She decided to cancel the motorcycle booking and switch to a car instead. The post said she informed the rider politely, apologized for the inconvenience, and canceled before he left his original location.
However, the customer said his girlfriend received a text message the following day threatening to give her a “bukol” if they crossed paths.
The poster described the alleged threat as unacceptable, while acknowledging that riders also spend time and effort accepting bookings.
The post drew comments from other users who shared complaints about riders allegedly demanding additional tips, delaying deliveries, and marking packages as delivered before completing the trip. Some also raised concerns about customer service and package tracking.
The allegations have not been independently verified. Lalamove has not posted a statement as of writing.
