Viva Hot Babes see younger selves in BINI, eye P-pop collab

Katya Santos says BINI reminds the Viva Hot Babes of their own early days, as the iconic group eyes a P-pop collaboration.

Members of the Viva Hot Babes, who are set to reunite for a concert in October, said their top pick for a P-pop collaboration would be BINI, whom they see as a reflection of the energy and excitement they brought to the local pop scene in their heyday.

“Sila ‘yong nakakuha ng pagiging bulaklak namin before noong na-launch kami,” Katya Santos shared, praising BINI’s popularity among Gen Z and music that resonates across generations.

Katya recalled her reaction when BINI first emerged: “Noong unang nilabas sila, naalala ko ang Viva Hot Babes, na parang, ‘Oh my God, tayo ‘yan before!’”

The comparison comes as the Hot Babes prepare to return to the stage for their first major throwback show, “BULAKLAK: Viva Hot Babes Reunion Concert,” happening October 23, 2026.

Formed in 2003 under Viva Entertainment, the group became a defining pop-culture force of the early 2000s, blending novelty music, modeling, dance, and a provocative public image. 

Their hits included “Bulaklak,” “Basketbol,” and “Kikay,” while their controversial Hotstuff pictorial magazines and Viva Films releases further cemented their notoriety.

But their comeback is also carrying a different message. The group said they want to promote women empowerment, emphasizing support rather than competition among women.

“Hindi dapat may competition or inggitan,” Santos said. “We want to celebrate the success of everyone.”

Meanwhile, BINI is currently taking their music overseas through the” Signals World Tour 2026,” with upcoming stops in Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, and Toronto before continuing through Europe and Asia.
