Female Tiktoker questions seated male passengers on the train.
A viral TikTok video of a female passenger has sparked discussions on modern chivalry and what it means to be a “gentleman.”
In the video, she films herself standing inside a train while male passengers remain seated in the background, with the caption: “POV: The world is full of gentlemen.”
With her video’s description, “No competition. No hate. Just equal respect,” many viewers interpreted the post as a sarcastic commentary on the absence of men offering their seats.

Some users argued that expecting chivalry in public transportation settings is unfair, noting that all passengers have paid the same fare and have an equal right to available seats.
Others pointed out that commuters may have also been tired after long days at work, and that choosing not to give up a seat does not necessarily reflect a lack of courtesy.
“Being a gentleman is a choice, not a responsibility,” one commented.
Another user noted that priority seating exists for passengers who need it, such as pregnant individuals, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities. Otherwise, commuters share equal access to regular seats, regardless of gender.
“Public transportation is a shared service, not a personal entitlement,” the user said. “Acts of gentlemanly courtesy are meaningful when they are freely chosen, not when they’re expected or pressured.”
