Subsection 3 connects Silang and General Trias, improving flow and easing congestion on key Southern Luzon routes.

Southern Luzon travel takes a step forward with the opening of a new stretch of the Cavite–Laguna Expressway (CALAX), bringing Biñan, Laguna, to General Trias, Cavite, down to about 26 minutes under smoother traffic conditions.

The newly opened Subsection 3 connects the Silang (Aguinaldo) Interchange to the Governor’s Drive Interchange in General Trias, easing one of the more congested east-west corridors in southern Luzon.

The one-month free transition

To ease the transition into full operations, the segment will be toll-free for one month. Drivers will continue paying existing rates for the earlier CALAX subsections from Mamplasan in Biñan up to Silang (Aguinaldo) while full toll updates remain pending approval from the Toll Regulatory Board in coordination with management.

The opening is expected to draw traffic away from older provincial roads, improving travel flow between Laguna and Cavite and easing congestion on key connecting routes used by both commuters and freight vehicles.

CALAX Subsection 3 is now open, slashing Cavite–Laguna travel to just 26 minutes. Enjoy a one-month toll-free period on the new Silang-General Trias stretch starting this May.

Navigating the new CALAX

While the new segment is toll-free for a month, you still need a valid Easytrip RFID with a positive balance to enter and exit the earlier subsections of CALAX. Make it a habit to check your balance by June.

If you are coming from General Trias, the new Governor's Drive Interchange provides direct access to the expressway. This is now the fastest way to reach the tourist hubs of Silang and Tagaytay.

Keep an eye on the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) announcements toward the end of May. Once the introductory period ends, expect a new toll matrix that reflects the full distance from Mamplasan to General Trias.

Use the new segment to bypass the heavy traffic often found near the Aguinaldo Highway intersection. Even if your destination is slightly further, the time saved on the expressway usually outweighs the extra distance.
