The La Union bet tops 50 candidates and now prepares to represent the Philippines at Miss Universe in Puerto Rico.

Bea Millan-Windorski of La Union has been crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2026 during the highly anticipated coronation night held at the Mall of Asia Arena on Saturday, May 2.

From a competitive field of 50 exceptional candidates from across the country, Bea earned the coveted crown with her grace, intelligence, and commanding stage presence.

She succeeds Ahtisa Manalo, Miss Universe Philippines 2025, and now carries the responsibility of representing the Philippines on the global stage.

During the question-and-answer portion, the candidates were asked: “Many Filipinos are feeling frustrated with the country. For you, why is it still worthy to represent the country on the global stage?”

With poise and conviction, the newly crowned queen answered:

“The Philippines is a place I’ve been in love with my whole life. Growing up in a predominantly non-diversed part of the United States, I was identified as Filipina first and foremost. I often had to point out where the Philippines was on a map to my peers, and I pack my life into Balikbayan boxes and suitcases because I believe in the limitless potential of the Filipino people and the fact that we need to create local opportunities here so that people don’t have to go abroad and be separated from their families in order to survive and thrive. If I were given the title of Miss Universe Philippines, I promise to be a public servant for all.”

A promise to serve the Filipino people

Bea opened up with gratitude after being crowned as Ahtisa’s successor, marking a dramatic new chapter in her pageant journey. She admitted she never expected to take home the crown, especially as she now prepares to represent the Philippines in Puerto Rico this coming November.

With seven months left before the international stage, Bea is already making a bold promise; she says she is fully equipped, focused, and ready to compete and carry the country’s advocacy with pride.

The newly crowned queen also shared an emotional moment, revealing she prayed and dedicated her victory to her kababayans in La Union as she sets her sights on bringing home the Philippines’ fifth Miss Universe crown.

Bea also sent a heartfelt message to reigning Miss Universe Fatima Bosch, saying she deeply relates to her experience of facing online hate and bullying.

Now officially the country’s new queen, Bea says she is committed to amplifying her advocacy as she steps into the global spotlight.
