Rocking a standout piece by finalist designer Evelyn Rocela, the boy model delivered an outstanding performance that left the audience in awe.

This outfit is a creative exploration of sustainable fashion, specifically utilizing the technique of upcycling. The creation features heavy use of fringing raw edges. By layering and fraying the fabric scraps, bathrobe, and Binakol fabrics.

The creation also shows a mix of traditional Filipino shapes and contemporary urban style. The use of hand-woven patterns or prints that resemble indigenous textiles and patterns, which is common in Evelyn’s work. It also highlights a modern Filipino outfit approach to sustainable design.

Walking alongside other models, the boy model owned the catwalk with a “slayable” performance that proved height doesn’t define presence. His unwavering confidence perfectly showcases Evelyn’s creation.

Now in its third year, The Retashow continues to be a powerhouse for eco-conscious creativity. Building on the success of the Retashow: Kidswear Edition in 2025, this year’s showcase remains an important platform for local designers to showcase their skills using repurposed textiles and being part of a sustainable fashion movement.
