As Pride Month kicks off, Gian Bernardino, the lead vocalist of the OPM band Cup of Joe, is proving he knows exactly how to handle the Internet’s loudest trolls.
Instead of letting online negativity slide, the singer chose to completely own the insults thrown at his band during a recent broadcast to fans on his Instagram community channel.
Gian greeted his followers with a heartwarming Pride message, affirming, “you are valid and worthy of love ❤️.” In a witty, unapologetic twist, he signed off the message as “gian baklandino ng cup of jokla 😜.”
Joewahs—the fanbase of Cup of Joe—believe this is Gian’s ultimate way of silencing haters who frequently hurl homophobic remarks at the band, often labeling them “bading” or mockingly calling them “Cup of Jokla,”
Back in April, Gian opened up about his personal life, sharing that he is attracted to people regardless of their gender, prioritizing an individual’s personality over whether they are a man, woman, gay, lesbian, or transgender, and that he is currently exclusively dating someone new.
