Coco Martin opens up on ‘Sigabo’ delay, why Julia Montes is his main source of strength

“Nako po pasensya na kayo, pero malapit na malapit na,” he said.

According to the actor, the temporary halt allowed everyone involved in the production to recharge and take a closer look at the project.

“Kung medyo na-delay ng konti, no’ng nakita namin siya, may reason pala kung bakit nahinto ng kaunti–para makapagpahinga, makapag-recharge at mas mabusisi namin ang proyekto.”

Now that post-production is underway, Martin said he is even more confident about what “Sigabo” will offer audiences.

“Ngayon ini-edit na namin at nakita na namin iyong mga kinunan namin at sobra akong happy at proud kasi sinigurado po ng buong team at ng ABS-CBN na mas pinaganda pa namin siya kumpara sa ‘Probinsyano’ at sa ‘Batang Quiapo,’” he shared.He added that the entire production remains committed to meeting the high expectations of viewers who have followed his television journey through the years.

“Kaya iyong ini-expect po ng mga tao, ibibigay po namin. Deserve ng lahat ng Pilipino kung ano ang kanilang paghihintay,” he pointed out.

While discussing the upcoming series, Martin also offered rare insights into the relationship that has quietly endured alongside his flourishing career.

For years, he and Montes have remained one of the entertainment industry’s most talked-about yet private couples. Even with constant public interest, Martin believes the strength of their relationship lies in something remarkably simple: mutual respect. “Pinaka-key ’yong marespeto kami sa isa’t isa,” he said.

“Yong respeto at suportahan ng isa’t isa, iyon ang pinaka-sikreto namin. Kaya ‘yong pagmamahal namin, mas tumitindi.”
