Luxury vehicle auction leads bulk of Bureau of Customs collections from January to May 2026.

Seized and forfeited goods sold through public auction and negotiated transactions reached ₱329.934 million from January to May 2026, with high-value assets helping push government collections higher over the period as items previously held in storage were converted into liquid revenue for public use.

The Bureau of Customs said a significant portion came from the negotiated sale of 13 Discaya-owned vehicles, which alone generated ₱114.74 million, forming the single largest transaction batch in the period.

The agency said these disposal channels allow confiscated items to be properly valued and sold before deterioration sets in, allowing the government to recover financial value that would otherwise be lost while assets remain idle under custody.

Proceeds are remitted to the Bureau of the Treasury and are directed to fund government programs, infrastructure development, and essential services, with each transaction passing through documented recording, deposit, and audit processes to ensure full traceability of funds.

All auctions are livestreamed and open to the public, allowing media and stakeholders to observe bidding activity in real time, while publication of notices, bid evaluation, awarding, payment, and documentation follow defined procedures designed to keep disposal activities orderly and verifiable from start to finish.
