Shell and Seaoil announce identical price increases, pushing diesel and gasoline to higher average pump prices.
Another hefty diesel hike is coming on Tuesday, July 14, with pump prices set to climb by ₱4.60 per liter in the latest round of fuel price adjustments.
Based on the Department of Energy’s computation, diesel was projected to increase by between ₱2.62 and ₱4.62 per liter. Gasoline was expected to go up by ₱1.00 per liter, while kerosene was seen rising by ₱2.22 to ₱4.22 per liter.
As of press time, separate advisories released by Shell Pilipinas Corp. and Seaoil Philippines Inc. showed identical adjustments, with both companies implementing a ₱4.60 per liter increase for diesel, a ₱1.00 per liter increase for gasoline, and a ₱2.30 per liter increase for kerosene.
After the adjustment takes effect, diesel is expected to average around ₱78.90 per liter, up from around ₱74.30 last week. Gasoline, meanwhile, is projected to average around ₱80.60 per liter, from about ₱79.60 previously.
The latest adjustment extends the recent run of fuel price increases, with early advisories following the upper end of the Department of Energy’s projected range for diesel.
