Youth leaders convene for UN SDG talks on poverty reduction, climate action, and development goals.
Filipino youth leaders are spearheading an effort to speed up progress toward the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) as the 2030 target to achieve these goals nears.
The UN SDGs Youth Convergence calls on all Filipino youth who want to create meaningful change in their communities and contribute to the accomplishment of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The convergence will take place on June 24-28 in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan. Throughout the four days, youth delegates will undergo immersion in local communities and social enterprises that are making strides toward the UN SDGs.
Delegates can look forward to learning from the renewable energy efforts at Sabang Solar Farm, forest restoration initiatives in Cabayugan, a solidarity dinner at Iwahig Firefly Restaurant, and many other activities aimed at building shared advocacy and meaningful connection.
The gathering will also feature discussions with UN representatives and development partners to build potential action plans to accelerate progress toward the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Interested participants can apply via www.unsdgsyouthconvergence.com. Youth leaders aged 16 to 30 years old are welcome to apply—especially women, LGBTQ+, out-of-school youth, members of marginalized groups, student organizations and councils, and Sangguniang Kabataan.
The 2026 UN SDGs Youth Convergence is organized by the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network Youth Philippines. Established in 2015, the group has engaged nearly 650,000 young people and 800 partner organizations nationwide in advancing the UN SDGs.
