LANS goes viral for calling out online double standards, urges equal respect for women regardless of content or image.
Content creator LANS has spoken out after social media was flooded with posts saying, “Gayahin niyo si LANS, karespe-respeto,” often comparing her to other female creators and implying that women who post thirst traps are less deserving of respect.
While some netizens intended the remarks as praise, LANS made it clear that she does not support being used to put other women down.
The creator pointed out that she herself has experienced disrespect and harassment online, making such comparisons both unfair and unnecessary.
“Hindi ko po ma-consider na achievement ‘yong pagtaas ng followers kung may mga kababaihan naman pong ibinababa para lang may maitaas,” she wrote.
LANS also emphasized that respect should not be conditional on how a woman dresses, behaves, or presents herself online. Whether someone is an educational creator, conservative, outspoken, feminine, or confident in posting photos of themselves, they deserve the same level of dignity and respect, she said.
“The way we dress is never an invitation for disrespect,” she added, stressing that women should not be expected to change in order to be treated properly.
Her statement has since earned praise from netizens, with many applauding her for steering the conversation away from comparisons and toward a broader message of respect for all women.
LANS, known for her educational and socially aware content, has built a strong online presence with over 4.7 million followers on Facebook, making her voice particularly influential in conversations about digital culture and women’s empowerment.
