Matet de Leon fires back at critics, denies wrongdoing as Ian de Leon defends legal control over Nora Aunor estate.

As the sibling feud surrounding the estate of late National Artist for Film and Philippine Superstar Nora Aunor continues, actress Matet de Leon took to social media to address criticism and accusations directed at her and her siblings.

Matet’s statement came after recent discussions involving her brother, Ian de Leon, who has assumed responsibility for managing their mother’s estate as her sole biological child and legal heir.

Following Nora Aunor’s passing on April 16, 2025, Ian established Nora Aunor Enterprise, a one-person corporation, and the Nora Aunor Foundation to safeguard her intellectual property, preserve her memorabilia, and eventually develop a museum dedicated to her legacy.

Ian has also maintained that his legal status does not exclude his siblings and that he intends to handle their mother’s legacy fairly.

In a lengthy post, Matet said there were many things that happened within their family that the public was unaware of, stressing that people had been quick to judge based on limited information.

“Yung mga pinagsasasabi ni Ian, truth niya ‘yon. No’ng nagpa-interview siya at paulit-ulit na sinabing siya ang sole heir, nag-assume agad ang iba na nang-aagaw kami,” she wrote.

She also criticized online bashers, saying they had no personal knowledge of the situation and were unfairly attacking her family.

“Ang tunay na kaaway ay kayo. Nagco-comment ng kung ano-ano na para bang may nagawa kami sa inyo mismo. You don’t know us, we don’t know you. Wala kayong kaalam-alam sa nangyari,” she said.

Matet further denied allegations that she and her siblings were attempting to take control of their mother’s assets. She also responded to accusations of being ungrateful, insisting that she remained thankful to Aunor and cared for her to the best of her ability.

Addressing Ian directly, Matet urged her brother to acknowledge his own mistakes and clarify to the public that their family was not trying to take anything unlawfully.

“Para sa’yo, ‘Kuya’ Ian, sana sinabi mo rin sa tao ‘yong mga nagawa mong mali—na hindi totoong may kinakamkam kami,” she wrote.

Matet ended her message with a reminder that the public does not know the full story behind the family’s ongoing conflict. “See guys? You know nothing,” she concluded.
