Awra Briguela undergoes rhinoplasty, documents journey in vlog

“And yes, tama po, surgery day ko today and magpapagawa po ako ng nose,” she said in a YouTube vlog released on Tuesday, July 14, where she documented her cosmetic surgery journey. She explained why she finally decided to undergo the procedure and opened up about the support she received from her family and close friends.

“Matagal ko na talaga siyang gusto. And feeling ko talaga guys, eto na lang ang kulang para maging sobrang Latina na ako.”

Awra stressed that her decision was not fueled by insecurity. Instead, she said she already appreciated her natural nose but felt that a subtle enhancement would better complement her features.

“Pero kidding aside, hindi naman sa sobrang insecurities ko, ‘yong nose ko kasi maganda naman siya, and maganda siya pag naayusan, but feeling ko talaga, guys, kilangan niya ng enhancement,” she explained.

“And feeling ko pag naayos na or nagawa na ‘yong ilong ko, buo na talaga. Like ‘yon na lang ang kulang, I feel like.”

Before her surgery, Awra shared what she described as her last selfie with her natural nose on Instagram Stories. She also informed her family about the procedure, particularly her father, whom she said remained supportive despite having mixed emotions about her decision.

“After kong sabihin sa kanila, guys, of course, sa family ko din sinabi ko. Nagpaalam ako sa parents ko, sa papa ko.

“Actually, hindi naman sobrang nagpaalam kasi wala naman na silang pakialam sa desisyon namin. Pero importante pa rin na magsabi sa kanila. But, yeah, umuwi ako ng house.

“Walang reaction si Papa, pero I know, 50/50 na tanggap niya or hindi. But no matter what happens, super supportive kasi ng Papa ko, and at the end of the day, tatanggapin pa rin.

“And wala naman siyang magagawa kasi ‘yon ang gusto ko. And kung saan naman ako masaya and kung saan ang ikakaganda ng anak niya, doon din siya. Gano’n naman si Papa.

“But yeah, so far lahat naman sila is happy.”

Awra also shared that content creator Zeinab Harake was among the first people she told about her plans, adding that her close friend fully supported her decision.

She initially intended to have only a minor enhancement, but her surgeon recommended a more comprehensive rhinoplasty to achieve a better overall result and reduce the chances of requiring revision surgery in the future.

“Today is my surgery day and ilang oras na lang, mag-iiba na yung looks ko, mag-iiba na yung itsura ko. “And eto na ‘yong huling beses na makakita niyo ang face na to.”

Awra revealed that Spanish model and influencer Cindy Kimberly inspired the shape of her new nose. “Ang gusto kong talagang nose or ang peg ko talaga si si Cindy Kimberly.”

“She’s so pretty and her nose is so beautiful, like gorgeous. Hindi siya ganun kabongga pero ang lakas ang dating. At feeling ko bagay siya sa akin.”

The procedure marks another step in Awra’s transition after previously confirming that she identifies as a transgender woman and plans to undergo gender-affirming surgery in the future.

She also shared that she intends to begin hormone therapy only after ensuring her health and laboratory results are properly monitored.

Awra has yet to unveil the final outcome of her rhinoplasty, saying it will be featured in the second part of her vlog series.

Her first vlog ended with her nose still visibly swollen, as she explained that she would wait for the “total healing” process before revealing the final results.
