All eight branches have closed, leaving patients awaiting follow-up procedures, vaccine doses, and refunds.
The sudden shutdown of a women’s health clinic chain has left patients in the dark, with many still awaiting follow-up procedures and refunds.
Kindred Health, a women-focused clinic chain, made an announcement on July 10 titled “A New Chapter for Kindred” that many interpreted as signaling a hiatus.
“We’ve been a little quiet here lately as we slowly step into a brand new chapter—one focused entirely on providing a better, more seamless healthcare experience for you,” part of the post caption read.
The announcement came after months of apparent downsizing. Many clients noticed that Kindred clinics had been quietly shutting down over the past year. Since launching in 2022, the company had operated eight branches across Metro Manila, Pampanga, Laguna, and Cebu. Weeks before the post, only its flagship branch in Bonifacio Global City remained open.
Some clients claim the clinic had already gone silent as early as May, with their queries and messages left unanswered. Several patients said they had repeatedly tried reaching the clinic through email and social media, with some claiming they had received no response despite having fully paid for consultations or contacting the clinic months earlier.
A major concern among clients is the lack of clarity regarding follow-up procedures, especially for the two-dose HPV vaccine and consultation packages offered by the clinic. The delays pose an issue as they may impact the effectiveness of certain vaccines, medications, and procedures, and may also hamper patients’ recovery. None of Kindred’s affiliated doctors have commented on the supposed hiatus.
Kindred sought to address gaps in women’s health care by providing a roster of all-women doctors, sexual and reproductive health procedures, and wellness packages. The clinic’s absence is particularly felt by clients amid an already limited pool of options for women’s health services.
