The actor says focus stays on the work after the success of “Rewind,” teases nearing completion of the reunion film shot in Canada.

Fresh off the historic success of “Rewind,” Dingdong Dantes reunites with wife Marian Rivera on the big screen, but refuses to carry the weight of expectations.

Their upcoming film “Remember” inevitably draws comparisons to their last project, which is widely considered the highest-grossing Filipino movie of all time, earning over P924 million worldwide. But for Dantes, dwelling on that milestone only risks getting in the way.

When radar Entertainment spoke to the “Family Feud” host, he was quick to brush off any notion of pressure tied to “Rewind’s” success and the anticipation surrounding their new film.

“We always focus on the work. Kahit ‘yong ‘Rewind,’ focused lang kami sa trabaho, sa kung paano namin gagampanan ang role. Kung iisipin namin ang mga ganyan, like pressure and expectations, baka malihis din ang objective. We always focus on the work.”

He added that the film is still in progress but nearing completion. “Sa ngayon, in the works siya. ‘Di pa siya tapos, pero malapit-lapit na.”

The couple recently traveled to Quebec, Canada, to shoot their reunion movie. For Dantes, working alongside his wife remains a special experience. “Yes, napakasarap lalo na ‘pag kasama mo ‘yong ‘misis’ mo sa trabaho, ‘di ba? Ano pa ang hihilingin ko?”

Meanwhile, their daughter Zia is already showing interest in following their footsteps. She recently lent her voice to a character in the upcoming Filipino animated fantasy series “Sun Chaser,” which also features Dantes in the cast.

“Hilig naman niya ‘yon so sinuportahan namin. Yeah, ‘yon lang naman ‘yon. I think one episode pa lang naman.”

Dantes is also game for new collaborations—including one that has been making waves online. The group Baby Dolls earlier shared that they would like to work with him on their hit song “Oooh Lala Baby,” especially after Marian went viral for dancing to it.

“Ako? Oo naman, aaralin ko na ‘yong steps kasi noong ginagawa na nga ni Marian ‘yong steps, sabi ko kailangang maituro sa akin.”

Apart from the film, Dantes is currently busy taping the Kapuso primetime drama-action series “Master Cutter.” He teased that viewers can expect more twists as the story progresses.

“Ang dami pang mangyayari. Heto na nga ‘yong sinasabi ko na ang mga kuwento, ang plot ng iba’t ibang karakter, ngayon na natin nakikita. ‘Yon na ‘yong isa sa pinaka-exciting na part sa kuwento ng Master Cutter. ‘Di lang naman sa kuwento ni Atoy kund
